Al-Qa'ida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), based in Yemen, released a major video production, America and the Final Trap, via its media wing, the Al-Malahim (Epics) Media Foundation on May 26. This video comes closely on the hells of Al-Malahim's "exclusive" interview with the wanted radical American Muslim ideologue and preacher Anwar al-'Awlaqi (Awlaki), which was released on May 22.
America and the Final Trap features a number of important leaders and members of AQAP including its military commander, Qasim al-Raymi, and another of the group's leaders, 'Uthman al-Ghamdi, who is a Saudi and a former detainee at the United States' prison camp at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The video also features Fahd al-Qas'a (usually mistransliterated as "al-Quso"), who is wanted by the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for alleged involvement in the October 2000 kamikaze boat attack on the USS Cole, a U.S. Navy destroyer in the port of Aden.
Part of the video recounts the "martyrdom" of several of the group's members including Afghan 1980s jihad veteran Abu Salah al-Kazemi and leader Shaykh Muhammad 'Amir. The very end of the video includes a clip from the martyrdom will of 'Umar Faruq 'Abdulmuttalab, the failed Nigerian Detroit aircraft bomber.
