Dokku (Dokka) Umarov, Amir al-Umara of the Islamic Emirate of the Caucasus, Claims Moscow Subway Attack: English Translation

Embedded below is an English-subtitled version of a video statement made by Dokku (Dokka) Umarov, who is also known as "Abu 'Uthman," the senior leader (amir al-umara; "leader of leaders") of the Islamic Emirate of the Caucasus (IEC). The IEC is composed of a number of Caucasus insurgent groups opposed to Russian rule of several republics and regions, including Chechnya, Ingushetia, and Dagestan. In a video released about one week ago, Umarov (in Russian) claimed the March 29 double kamikaze attack by two women bombers on the Moscow subway. He said that the attacks were in retaliation for continuing Russian crimes, via its puppet allies who rule in the Caucasus republics. The video below is the same, with the addition of English-language subtitles.

Russian forces have recently killed two senior leaders of the Islamic Emirate of the Caucasus, the young preacher Sa'id Abu Sa'd (Sa'id Buryatskiy) and the IEC's mufti (chief jurist), Amir (leader) Sayfullah (Saifullah, "Sword of God"), whose real name was Anzor Astemirov.

Thank you for providing the english translation and transcript. It sheds much more light on the ideological viewpoints of the IEC and their justifications for committing and continuing these actions. I'll reserve my opinions regarding the movement as my knowledge is limited but your previous blog post on the IEC (August 2009) have proven an excellent jump-pad for learning more.
